Oswego county social services commissioner Fran Lanigan will not resign because of the Erin Maxwell case. Two county legislators have agreed to accept her resignation over the case, but Lanigan has said she never offered to give a resignation.
"Legislators Doug Malone and Arthur Gearsbeck then asked county attorneys to look into whether Lanigan could be fired."

In my humble opinion, there is no question as to what should be done with Fran Lanigan. She should be fired.
